Seated Lady visits New City! Local Architect is thrilled by new visitor.

New City  NY -  On a clear crisp winter day, sculptor Edward Walsh delivered a wonderful work to the offices of New City based Michael Shilale Architects, LLP.  Walsh has previously exhibited his stainless steel "Bird Arising" in front of their building on Park Avenue in New City.

Michael Shilale, AIA is thrilled with the new piece.  Shilale states that previously his architectural offices became known as “the building with the beautiful bird.”   Now he hopes visitors and passers-by will appreciate the size, scale, strength and sinuousness of Seated Lady.

"We've had a great response already.  One day a group of teens jumped out of their car just to take a photograph with her." Shilale recalls.

Edward Walsh, is a Rockland based artist from Valley Cottage. His client list includes Merv Griffin, a former empress of Iran and various corporate headquarters around the country, as well as local clients like Camp Venture’s Holocaust Memorial and Pomona Junior High School. Besides large scale outdoor sculpture work, Walsh also creates interior sized sculptures, bas reliefs, kinetic sculptures, and works on paper.

Michael Shilale is an ardent supporter of arts and enjoys promoting the works of Hudson Valley artists.  He is a member of Rockland County's Public Art committee called  Art in Public Places and served as that committee's chair for several years.

Shilale believes good architecture, like good art, music, literature, etc. can make a tremendous difference in our lives and our communities. His firm’s focus on quality design seeks to enhance the lives of those who live, learn, work and play in and around his buildings.
