10/28/2013: Rochester, NY: For the eighth year in a row, Michael Shilale Architects, LLP (MSA) exhibited their work at the statewide convention for New York State School Board Association (NYSSBA) members in Rochester. The NYSSBA conference is geared to inform and educate school board members, and MSA is proud to support this effort and the clients we serve.
Over 100 school board members and staff from districts throughout the state stopped by to chat with us and participate in our annual Library Grant drawing. Many were impressed with our recently completed seven million dollar Energy Performance Project for North Rockland Central School District. New boilers, roofs, lighting and many other important infrastructure projects were successfully implemented at no net costs. All the work is paid for by the over $400,000 annual energy savings.
This year's winner of the $250.00 Library Grant goes to Brian LaTourette, Trustee from Downsville Central School District.
We also discussed how our clients have successfully implemented the following strategies.
-Replaced antiquated electrical service that pays for itself.
-Solar panels, without the installation and maintenance costs!
-Capital improvements, such as roof replacements, boiler upgrades, and lighting retrofits at no cost to your taxpayers!
Along with some tasty green M&M's, visitors viewed some impressive 'Green Ideas' that save energy, save money and pay for themselves. It was also an opportunity for us to meet school board members from throughout New York State.
