CTEC STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT A&E SUSTAINABILITY!

On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Michael Shilale and Ed Gray spoke with Career and Technical Education (CTEC) students at Rockland BOCES, inspiring the next generation of architects and engineers.

“I've seen firsthand the impact Rockland BOCES has on students. I enjoy challenging young minds to think critically and apply their learning to shape the world around them” - Michael Shilale, AIA

The CTEC program provides students with early exposure to technical education, professional skills, industry certifications, and college credits, preparing them for high-demand careers before graduation. Michael highlighted sustainability initiatives within his own practice, emphasizing the importance of eco-friendly design. Ed, an engineer and former Rockland BOCES educator, shared insights into the sustainable projects he implemented during his teaching tenure, demonstrating the lasting impact of hands-on learning.

MSA has a long-standing commitment to mentoring students at Rockland BOCES, including active participation in the Hudson Valley Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) Business Partnership Program. Through site visits, job shadowing, and real-world applications, Michael has helped bridge education and professional practice.

Thank you to Franny Perez and Christian Papa from CTEC's instructional support team for inviting Michael Shilale and Ed Gray to share their expertise and inspire the next generation of industry leaders.
