Robed Lady Comes to MSA

06/26/19: In March 2019, we visited Edward Walsh at his home and studio, viewing and discussing all his sculptures and works of art, looking forward to once again working alongside the local sculptor. This will be the third time that Michael Shilale Architects will be displaying one of Edward Walsh’s pieces in front of our office.

We at Michael Shilale Architects, LLP are so excited to announce that our new (and third) art piece from sculptor Edward Walsh arrived this morning! Titled “Robed Lady”, this piece, made as a model for Bronze, really pops in front of our all white building. We would love to see and invite our friends, family, clients and the public to pass by our office to see this great piece of art.

From studying in school to serving for the Rockland County Public Art committee, Art in Public Places to present day, Michael along with every member of our office has always enjoyed promoting and being a part of the local artist community. Michael believes art and architecture have a wonderful relationship although they are different disciplines; he is often inspired by a quote by Marvin J. Malecha,

“Architecture is a very different discipline.  The sciences are focused on understanding what our physical world is.  The arts and humanities are focused on understanding all that is not physical in our world.  Architecture focuses on understanding and envisioning what is yet to be.”

We believe that all forms of art provide comfort, beauty and inspiration in our everyday lives; working with, integrating and surrounding ourselves and our community with wonderful art pieces provides for further creation.
